Of Good report and praiseworthy
Today was an excellent day. Baby Windsor made it's first big sale!! Now Little Things Mean A Lot in American Fork will be selling baby ties. Now the next few days are going to be full of a whole lot of ties to be made. Man, oh man. Not to say that I wasn't expecting this....but I kinda wasn't. At least not so soon! I'm so excited!! Baby Windsor is official!!
Hey All Yooz Slakahs
Just thought I'd point out that I can see who reads my blog and who fails to comment!!! Thaaats right, I'm watching you. So far, Rachel is the only one who gets a christmas present. HA! Now aren't you sad you felt no need to comment.
Ok, I'm feeling better now. You don't have to if you don't want to. I'm only going to cry a little bit.
In other news, today I make a second trip to a local store where I'm hoping to have my ties available. The main lady wasn't in yesterday but the gal I spoke with seemed positive. So we'll see. I'm all ready to go and so is the babe which is pretty good since it's only 9:30. So I'll let you know.
Other plans for my ties include a booth at Melon Days in Green River. I think that will be a good place to do some serious sales. Last year, Kolt's sister Jessi sold super cool b/w photos in frames and she made out like a bandit.

A question for my readers
Suppose Baby Windsor started doing the whole "party" thing. Would people:
a) be willing to show up and buy ties?
b)be willing to host such an event?
c)want to invite everyone they know to such an event?
Just wondering. Please comment if you read this. Even if it's anonymous it would help out a lot.
We're tossing ideas around and this is one of them. Hosting usually gets you some money back, like 40% of the profits or something like that so it wouldn't be a bad deal if people came. And perhaps if you are a hostess you could get a deal on ties too. I'm willing to work with ya!!

Destry's first trip to the zoo
On our way to the zoo, He's pretty much the coolest kid on the block. And you can totally see our reflections in the glasses.
This was Destry half-way through the zoo. He made it to the elephants and promptly crashed.
Kolt's brother Clay measuring up to a gorilla. Pretty close....
Jessi measuring up to the female gorilla
Jessi again in the arms of her gorilla lover.
the highlight of the trip: me getting to play with the monkey. He had pulled this big stick a little way through the fence and was trying to eat it. So I grabbed the other end and started messing with him. He figured out that he could sit on the stick while I pushed it up and down and WALAH! a monkey teeter-totter. It was pretty much the coolest thing I've ever got to do. And the zoo-keeper lady across the street wasn't too happy but she never came over. we were just having too much fun.
This was my little monkey friend close up.Saturday, July 25, 2009

My adopted baby
I'm proud to say that I'm a new mommma of the cutest baby eggplant ever!! I planted this eggplant this year because, well, I've never planted one before. It's kind of a quandry as to what to do with them but I'm up for the challenge. I'm thinking the classic Eggplant Parmesan is likely, but i'm also going to try it in a zuccinni casserole with chicken. mmmmm. I've heretofore made sort of fried eggplant and that's pretty tastey but not super creative. So I'll keep you posted as my baby grows. Just don't tell him he's on the menu. It might stunt his growth. And If you look closely you'll see more potential eggplants! Woo-woooot!

Destry

Destry discovered his feet last week and ever since has been thouroughly entertained by them. Which is nice since they're attached to him and all.

He also is starting to get bored which is not so nice. There was a baby at church who is a few weeks older than he is and she played with the same toy the entire time. And not just like holding it--She was all out going nuts shaking and kicking and waving her arms. Like it was the greatest thing she's ever done. Not Destry! He needs a new toy every five minutes and after we go through them all he's still looking to be entertained. Crazy kid. I dare say he may be a bit active when he gets older. O well. He'll keep me in shape.

Lastly, these shoes are from his auntie carrie and they finally fit! I've been waiting since we got them and now i'm super excited to put them on him. They're just so soft and fun

A brand new day
My day started early as usual and after my bowl of cheerios and strawberries I felt ready to tackle my website woes. My new website creator (Weebly, for all those who were wondering) has pulled through and made my life whole again. At least as far as the internet is concerned.
Even though I went to bed at 2am I'm surprisingly chipper. See me again at 2:00pm this afternoon and I'll probably be unconscious. I was even nice to Kolt when I had to wake him up for traffic school this morning. And that's an accomplishment considering it was for traffic school. And he failed to set his alarm last night. Which I noticed and did for him at 2 o'clock. Shaking my head because it's like he's 14 years old. But only when it comes to the alarm. Not sure why. I like choppy sentences when I'm being a smart-mouth. Not sure why again.
But I digress. Babywindsor.com is once again working and completely different than before. I'm liking the simplistic layout this time. Maybe it's because I spent countless hours messing up more sophisticated layouts. I came to the conclusion that when I need a better website, I'll have more money and I can just pay someone to do it for me. Until that day, this'll do, donkey. This'll do.

Did I mention I really dislike technology sometimes?
Today has been a complete waste of time. I've been trying to put up my webpage and make it all snazzy-like, see? And its not working so well. Currently, you have to view it using Internet Explorer (AKA the Devil's browser) otherwise you can't go past the homepage that doesn't load all the way. The next step is throwing things but I'm hoping it doesn't come to that.
I'm actually trying out a different webpage building service online and it seems to be alright. At least the colors are right for my webpages. Not as cool as I'd like but better than what's going on right now. But its currently 12:45am and I've been at this since 8 am this morning (yesterday morning, actually). Yes, friends, that would be a good 16 hours of super-awesomeness.
There was a point today where I cried at my computer desk. Cried my eyes out from complete frustration. You know that Verizon commercial where the guy is kneeling out in the street and it's raining and he says, "It's just so frustrating!!"--that's how I feel. Look--I even found it on youtube at 1am in the morning so you all could enjoy it. It makes me laugh every time.

Announcing BabyWindsor.com

Ok everybody. So I've been working on starting up a little business called Baby Windsor. Ever since I made Destry a tie for his blessing day people have been asking where I got it. So I decided I could make them and sell the to the world because they're just so gosh dang darling.
go here to babywindsor.com and check it out. I have a disclaimer, however, that my website is FAARRR from even being close to what I want it to look like but you'll get the basic idea and the products are still good.
I was going to tweak things even more today but then my external hard drive decided to croak and pretty much ruin my life since most of our photos are on there and everything for my website is on there. It makes me sick just thinking about not ever getting that stuff back. Hopefully we can figure out whats going on and get it back in working condition long enough to back everything up on CD's. Lesson learned there. ugh. Note to self: never trust technology.

Rubba-Dub-dub
Destry discovered he could suck on his washcloth and he'd actually get something out of it. So now that's what the washcloths are for. not for bathing, not for scrubbing...for sucking on. One of those things where I kinda cringe a bit but as long as he's happy and doesn't poop in the water I let him do it. Besides, he's just so dang cute!

4th of July
We started the day off with a photoshoot of Destry in his patriotic outfit. We had another stars and striped shirt to wear in case this got dirty but he was super good all day and didn't poop on his clothes! Awwww, what a cutie. I measure the day success rate in direct relation to how many outfits were pooped on.
serious Destrysuch a good little model for mommy!
We had a delicious lunch at my dad's house--they're garden is starting to pop with produce and we had the most AMAZING potatoes ever from their garden. They were creamy and such a nice flavor...man. I need some more. I'm totally going to grow potatoes in my garden of the future just so that I can dig them up when they're ripe. It was like a treasure hunt, it was soo fun!! But this whole basket was what we picked out of the garden for our salad and steaks and potatoes lunch. mmmmmm
We topped the day off at a park with our buddies Clint and Jess watching the Stadium of Fire's somewhat disapointing display of firewords. Didn't even know we had the finale until they stopped shooting off and cars started pouring out of the stadium. laaaaaaaame. But Destry still really liked watching the explosions and didn't mind the noise at all. And this was after he woke up from falling asleep for the night. So I'd say he was pretty entertained. I was just glad we had pictures of him awake for this "first". Usually he's snoozing through everything!
Kolt really had fun with Clint lighting fireworks at the park. We had a few little kids watching us too, they were cute and asked if they could do sparklers. So we let them and they were super happy.Friday, July 3, 2009
Destry LOVES cereal!
We gave Destry some rice cereal the other day for the first time. At first he wasn't so sure but by day two he was super excited when he saw the bowl and spoon. He talks and coos the whole time. He is a bottomless pit, however, and I'm now feeding him formula sometimes too. I just can't keep up with the kid.

Bread Puddin'
K, so I've never been able to partake of this old-time treat and I think it's mostly because it always has yucky raisins or weird dried fruit in it. It kinda carries the same infamy as rice pudding. yeeaaahh. Anywhoo, I had an epiphany today. It went like this:
Said to myself, "Man, I have a half dozen rolls sitting nice and stale on my counter. That kinda bums me out."
A little breeze blew though my window carrying the words, "bread pudding....bread pudding..." (who am I kidding, it was like 100 degrees outside. My window was not open. Maybe it was my A/C that spoke to me.)
Nonetheless! (I love that word. Its just so dang long and its kinda fun to combine three words into one.) I though to myself, "Bread Pudding?? Doesn't that contain yucky raisins or weird dried fruit?" Then I realized that I was the captain of this boat. I'm a rebel. I do what I want, dang it! So I pulled out my trusty Better Homes and Gardens cook book and whipped up a lovely raisin/weird dried fruit-free batch of good ol' bread puddin'. And can I say, I'm a fan.
I also made a sweet caramel sauce to accompany my pudding and man, oh man. Yu-hum!
Now, aren't you glad you read this? I'm freeing the world from the chains that bound raisins/weird dried fruit to bread pudding. I'm a revolutionist!! Be Free and make some bread pudding today!!

Oh oh oh How I want to win this contest from PW. A sweet sweet camera that would kick my camera's trash any day of the week. I'm 3775 .
