Ok, so this week my sister and I are touring several fabric stores in the area...trying to find the cutest/newest fabric for ties and projects. Know any good ones? PLEASE LET ME KNOW!! We're open to anything. Thanks!!

Sweet nectar of life
Ambrosia of the gods...camera gods that is. What am I talking about? Batteries. Finally got some. My camera has been called in to action several times over the past week and wha-da-ya-know it was out of batteries. I'd really like an upgrade but we got all serious about our finances and yadda-yadda-yadda we put our tax rebate on my credit card. BORING.
On a completely different note, I decided that since we redid our floors our previously DARK furniture was too...well, DARK! So I posted them on KSL and craigslist. It took a lot longer than I wanted but we finally got them sold. I took that money and went to IKEA (I. heart. IKEA.) and did some shopping. First, we built us a new computer desk out of a butcher block counter top and legs they sell there separately. Its awesome. However, I didn't take pictures of it since we have all our stuff piled up on it (organization will soon follow...)Next, we spent three hours trying to debate what to put our TV on. We're still in the "tube TV" era so it's a little tricky. After several days of trying to come to an agreement, Kolt decided to gracefully back out of the design process (I heart my hubby too!!) and I had full control. WOo-WOo! So we went with some nice drawers suggested by my sister (who happens to have them in white) and I LOVE THEM!

kobe sneeze riiight as I snapped the photo.
Oh and that weird letter "D" on the wall is the prototype for one cut out of wood and painted white. I was just trying to get the dimension right. That paper definately isn't going to stay.
So far Des has yet to figure out that they're drawers. We'd like to keep it that way. No one is to open them EVER. in front of him. One half is all my sewing stuff and that would be the saddest day ever.
Kisses
Yesterday Des decided he likes giving kisses. He gave me about 50! Every time I was sitting down at his level he'd come over with his mouth wiiiiiide open ready for a smooch. LOVE IT!! hahaha Slobbery baby kisses are the best. Sorry dad! (although he gave you plenty too when you came home.)
Oh, and thanks Rachel for the pic. I stole it from you!! :D

Des wants to be a Rock Star!
This is one of Des' favorite toys. The Rock Band guitar. It's got all the right things: buttons, a cord, and stuff that sticks out and can be turned/twisted/lugged around.

Sprinklers are fun! (Kinda....)
I went to load some pictures from my camera for another post and I was pleasantly surprised by several other photos I had forgotten about! Hooray!!
The other day I had the sprinkler out watering our 9'x10' patch of grass and Des was pretty intrigued. So we stuck him in his swim suit and had some fun. This is what he did:
Just stood there and carefully put his hand in the water.
So then his mean mommy did something unthinkable.
Deeees. Don't you wanna come get your toy?
Surprise!! He actually didn't mind at all. He didn't even really crack a smile. He was busy figuring out how it worked. That's his new thing. To see something and figure out how its doing what its doing. He gets that from his dad. There are many stories of things being dismantled by a three-year-old Kolt (much to the dismay of his parents.)
Fuzzy slippers...
Missing: my toothbrush.
Last seen: yesterday when Des was "brushing his teeth".
I have a feeling I'll probably want to buy a new one...*sigh*.

Des' first golfing trip
Here I was being bummed that we don't do anything exciting around here and Kolt pipes up that he wants to go to the driving range. I think he was surprised by how quickly I said yes. I've recently come to the conclusion that we have the TV on waaaay too much in the evenings. So, after dinner we all headed to the local course which is BEAUTIFUL. It's called Sleepy Ridge and they have such amazing grounds plus an enormous newly built clubhouse/reception hall (and Magleby's Grill).
We had tons of fun just walking around by the clubhouse. Des' favorite part was on the practice putting green. He got to chase after dad's golf ball and pull up the little flags. We were the only ones on the green for a while so I wasn't too worried of him chasing someone else's golf ball. Although that would've been pretty funny!

Sorry friends...
I'm still here...just trying to find motivation to blog. Our days have been busy and filled with the usual day-to-day stuff that's really not that exciting to talk about. But I'll work on getting something together these next few days.

My budding artist
This is Des' first coloring-page ever! We've done a few with pens/pencils here and there but we went and got him some big-ol' kindergarten-sized crayons the other day. Now, there was some help from mom and dad (the zig-zag squiggles) but a lot of those marks were from Des! He liked using the flat bottoms of the crayons for some reason...and his left hand. (I blame the left-handedness on his tray that has the cup holder on the right so it's totally in the way of his right hand.) He's still pretty ambidextrous so I'm not too worried.

Why our printer will be broken someday
This was from a few weeks ago but it makes me laugh still. Little stinker!
two in one day....woo-woo!
K, this was on another blog I read and I've seen them before (same blog...ha) but there's something so awesome about this group that I love.
You should go and watch the one where they do a cover of "single ladies" by Beyonce.

Fun in the sun
Summer finally decided to show up! Des loves to play outside so now we do every day. We even broke out the swimming pool. Here's Des' first reaction:
Hahahaha! He wasn't too impressed. But mostly it was because he was hungry (I know, right? Again!?) so we introduced some more chocolate crackers and he warmed up to the idea.
"This isn't so bad...."
Success! We have a smile--a chocolaty smile--but a smile, nonetheless! Now he just needs some swimming buddies and we'd have ourselves a party!

Our Memorial Day
We decided to spend the day with Kolt's family and we had a blast! It was pretty low-key but Des had a ton of fun playing outside, meeting the kittens, riding a 4-wheeler and a Hot Wheels truck, and pretty much anything an almost 14-month old could do.
At first we planted some flowers....
So Des wanted to help and gma Renee got him a spoon and a cup to dig with (it may have included a worm too!)
And then we broke out the Hot Wheels! Des was in love.

The only bad thing was it didn't have a battery yet. So we all had to take turns pushing him around the yard.
But he loved it! And you can see his FOUR teeth in this one too! (I suspect more are comin' in...yikes!)
He played a ton with grandpa Rob...
Even Kobe had fun messing with the Cats. Until one kicked his butt. Then he avoided them the rest of the day (mostly)

And then the big toy came out. Daddy even showed him how to push the throttle and Des loved to make it go! This kid loves riding stuff that goes. Oh man, its in his blood!
