Fun Family Fotos...hehe

Yes, that was on purpose. I find alliteration very exhilarating. Even if you have to misspell words sometimes.

So the toe is feeling better. Not looking better but feeling better. Its still very much purple and ouchie looking but I figured you wouldn't want to see photos of my nasty toe. So here are some cute ones my mom-in-law took for us while in the big G R.

Poor little Destry was getting attacked by flies while we tried to get a cute shot of him and a biiiiig melon. So we didn't get too many of him with his eyes opened. The fly really liked to land close to/in his eyes. yikes. But this one was fun.

Aaand here we all are with the melon. Also getting eaten by flies and mosquitoes. There was a few broken melons off to the side so the bugs were pretty bad. This was my first time in the melon field, though, and it was quite exciting. Melons as far as the eye could see!

We pulled up to Kolt's uncle Timmy's farm and there were a bunch of antelope just chillin'. So we walked up as quiet as we could to snap a few photos before they ran off. Kinda fun, eh? I love the Book Cliffs in the background. They are just so dang cool lookin'.

Ouchie Mamma!

Today my middle toe on my right foot suffered a great misfortune. So great, it was probably a good thing I was the only one home at my parents. Well, Lucy was there and she really wanted to help the crazy human making straaaaange loud noises (none of which were swear words! Yeah, I'm just that good). Oh, and Lucy's my mom's dog for all you's who don't know. Aaaanyway, I stubbed it nice and hard on my mom's sewing chair and ever since walking has been quite trying. Being my right foot, pretty much anything that I needed to do today has been trying: driving, sewing, stair climbing (that takes both feet but I needed another activity for my list. Gotta make you all feeeeeeeeel my pain!) Emphasis on the sewing thing. Just add it to the list. You'd think that getting orders and having a business moving forward would be a positive thing. Not for my toe. It cries.

Yup, so that's my story. A super-jammed toe and a need to sew dang onsies. I finished a small one and then realized the neck was the same size as the biggest one. It's for the babies born with he-uge melons. Like sputnik. Spherical but quite point-eh in parts.

Days of Melon

Melon Days. A success in my book. We went to good ol' Green river, Utah this weekend to participate in the annual awesomeness of melony goodness. And it was. First, we set up the booth:

And then destry played a lot. He re-met Charlie, his redheaded counterpart. Both the only grandsons on this side of the family, both redheads.

Then we had a near-death cousin pile. Awwwww, how cute!! Then Destry lunges to his death but luckily aunt shuanee was there to make the catch. And my heart skipped a beat. but no harm, no foul. You can see him in the picture looking at the ground, thinking he needs a closer look....
Then Destry watched the parade and to my suprise he didn't even care when the sirens drove past. Usually he gets scared of screaming kids and sirens. Sometimes in that order. Sometimes not. He does well with everything else in this world: vacuums, mixers, mom yelling at the dog. You know, the usual.

Destry loves his cousin Jaci. Maybe a bit too much since he tried to eat her. She's sweet and all, but I'm not so sure she's on the list of what a 5 1/2 month old can eat.

Now, this was in order since it was melon days and all. I've tried to feed him watermelon (that was for you, carrie) but he didn't really like it. Although, his memory was short and still wanted mom's piece of melon to squish and to hold for about .2 seconds before we said "Sike!"

Kolt decided Destry needed a new hat and sunglasses. Who am I to disagree with that logic? What logic, you ask? Exactly.

(he may look not pleased to be wearing them but I assure you, he was only extremely tired. We'll convince him eventually)

And Grandma Ree was oh-so-nice in agreeing to be Destry's personal fan. We had to strip the poor kid down so he could cool off a bit. It was pretty hot and we blamed a lot of it on the "kettle corn" booth that was our neighbor during the day. Next year, we'll request someplace that doesn't generate additional heat.
Aaaand last but not least we had to get a red-neck photo with Destry's dad's cousin Weston. It was just too funny to have my son walking (ok, carrying) around without a shirt on. I wasn't doing the carrying, though. I was hard at work. But thanks, auntie jessi, for getting this photo. Makes me giggle.

More shots from the past few days...

Destry loves his little octopus! Kolt will give it to him at bedtime and he'll hug it tight and close his eyes. He also likes to eat the tentacles since they're just about mouth-sized.

This reminded me of the shots you see on tv or something where the celebrity or crazy person doesn't want to be filmed...hahaha

love the drool.

and oh-so-cute. Yes, I did put his pants on his head but only because he asked me to! I swear!!

Pants hair. jeesh.

A fun new game

Kolt showed Destry how to play tug-of-war with Kobe. It was actually kind of funny to watch--he'd really hold on tight so Kobe kept on pulling. They were pretty well matched...and I tried not to think about all the germs he was playing with holding onto Kobe's dog.

Hi my names is Destry

I'm 5 and a half months old! Here are some of my favorites:

Food: carrots, peas, sweet potatoes and anything mom is eating until I get a lick and think otherwise.
activity: standing. but I can't really so mom has to help me.
toy: my ducky who plays music and cheeks light up.
outfit: the birthday suit. I laugh and eat my toes when I'm naked and put up a fight and cry when its time for the clothes to come back on.

I also LOVE to be outside; love to watch the tv/computer screen/anything that lights up, makes noise, and moves; love to watch my crazy dog Kobe; and love it when daddy comes home (so does mom!). :D

Camping photos

I did manage to take some pics while camping this past weekend. The boys seemed to enjoy themselves and that makes me happy.

Destry loves his phone/rattle. It's our go-to-toy when he's needing entertainment.

Mike caught a fish!

Da' boyz. Minus destry who was still playing with his phone/rattle.

the elusive albino. This is what they were trying to catch. kolt finally succeeded right as it was time to pack up.

Kolt and his freaky albino fish
Kobe had fun running around and getting super muddy.

good ol' bri bri.

Happy Anniversary!

We've done it--made it four years! It seems like forever ago that we were at the Mt. Timp Temple getting married, taking pictures, being thin and young...(although I did play dress-ups the other day and I can still fit in the dress!! Boo-ya. It may have been rib-shattering tight but it still went on...)

So, in the spirit of the day, here are some photos looking back.

notice how my cousin krystal is peeking out from the arch. At first it made me kind of mad but then it makes me chuckle because that's just krystal for ya.

one of my favorite pictures from the wedding day. Its our expressions...kinda goofy, a little embarrassed at the crowd we're lookin' at, and super super happy all wrapped into one.

we took this in 2007...

from the first year of our marriage...spring 2006

Today, Kolt stayed home from work and we're going to go eat lunch someplace. That's about all we've planned but it will be fun!

Just thought you'd like to know

This is what my vacuum looks like! It's like a rocket ship! And I just realized it matches my car. weird. I think I'm going to vacuum again today just because it makes my carpets look so gosh darn good.
