Confessions of a Me Monster--Laura Edition

so I was tagged by Jenna and I'm not entirely sure what this is all about but I'll try to figure it out. This clip does tell a little bit about it I guess. It's pretty funny--->Brian Regan--Dinner Party

1. For some reason this is always the first thing that comes to mind...but in 6th grade I jumped the fence during recess with two girls (who convinced me it was ok to do this if it was during recess) and we went to Albertsons to buy candy. We totally got caught and ended up in the principals office crying our dumb little 11-year old eyes out. The part I remember most was when we came over the fence and saw the "duty lady" walking up I crammed my bag of candy into Gabe Thaynes hands so there would be no evidence. Then after all the drama with the principal and missing class and having my little brother see me (thanks to Gabe so brilliantly pointing me out to him) it ended up with my candy being consumed and I sure as heck didn't get any. That whole incident totally traumatised me for years. I couldn't got into an authority figure's office without wanting to completely come unglued. It still hits a little sore to this day but I mostly laugh about it now.

2. Sometimes I'll put destry's mouth up to my chin or my nose when he's hungry so he'll suck on it. It just feels so funny and makes me laugh.

3. I find it extremely hard to vacuum my carpet. I think its due to the fact that my vacuum is smelly ("oh it isn't smelly." "Oh yes its smelly. And i hate it! i hate it!") and my carpet needed to be replaced several years ago. The motivation just isn't there. Someday I'll have nice carpet and a vacuum that actually does its job and I'll still probably find it hard to vacuum. But I'll do it because I'll think about this nasty carpet and how people before me probably didn't vacuum it when it was nicer.

4. We let Destry watch TV when he's grumpy. That kid loves TV. He has since day one. It just makes him so much happier and entertained much longer than toys or singing with weird voices or any of that other baby-entertainment monkey stuff.

5. I really want to be able to sew baby clothes and sell them but its too hard to start something like that. But maybe if I get requests....

6. I'm mostly anti-social. (jenna can attest to this) But I find it really hard to "hang out" with people or go and do stuff with other people. Its weird because I like other people and have friends but for some reason you try to get me out of my house and my insides start doing the mamba (and not a happy mamba either.) Its always been like this ever since I started the whole friend thing at like 6. When I actually get out and do stuff with people I'm glad and I have fun but its the getting part that sometimes is hard. I'm just lame like that. Honestly, I think it's because I never really had a good friend after Megan Matthews in like 4th grade until Jenna in 10th grade and I missed a few lessons in friendship.

7. I really like plants. I like to buy them in the springtime and plant them anywhere I can. I've played with the thought of pulling all my grass in the backyard and making a fun garden out there but we really couldn't afford that and I think Kolt might have some beef with the idea of no grass. And Kobe wouldn't have a place to poo, although it seems that he favors pooping in my small flower bed anyway.

8. Two years from my life that I wouldn't miss: 6th grade and 12th grade. 6th because of the before mentioned incident with the duty lady and also because it was the start of the "I'm not cool enough" phase that hits around Jr. high. 12th grade, well because I really didn't like high school very much and it was probably one of the most stressful years of my life simply because I was a student body officer and that's all I had time for. They made us do everything and there were days where I would go to school early and not get home until that evening after dinner. Not to mention boyfriend drama and friend (or lack of) drama (mostly because of stupid boyfriend drama) .

9. I love cereal. My pregnancy was split into cereal phases. There was a fruit-loop stage, a Frosted Flakes stage, a cocoa puff stage, a short rice crispy treats cereal stage...capt'n crunch made an appearance...all ending in an addiction to Reese's Puff Cereal that I'm still battling. Destry doesn't do chocolate so I have to avoid it if I don't want baby vomit all over me all day long. I have developed a liking for Cheerios and with enough sugar they are downright tasty. And the baby doesn't mind sugar as far as I can tell.

10. I'm surprised that I thought up nine things to write about in this list of confessions. I really don't have too many secrets because mostly I'm boring. I am reading Harry Potter right now--the one for the movie that will be out this summer. That's about it for crazy. Woo-hoo. Harry is a rebel. and i Loooooove it. :)

I'm glad to say that nothing took me by surprise there. Whew! People keep having these facebook quizzes and they are getting like 30% on their sib's quizzes and I'm like, really? And people are getting even 70% on their spouses quizzes! Their spouse!

Anyway. I'm sorry for the 6th grade trauma. Although if you really think about it it's pretty cool that it's the worst thing that happened to you. :)
