My friend Jenna

My friend Jenna and I go way back to mid-sophomore year in HS. Way back. ha. Anyway, we were in art class together with a few other gals and it was super fun. We had our ups and downs and even took most of our Jr. year off from each other. Then there came a day when we both kind of realized that we could be friends without all the drama. Its golden. Love it. Probably why she's the only one I speak to from HS on a mostly-regular basis.

Jenna is now a photographer. Has a super cool camera and knows how to use it. She decided that even though I consistently forget to tell her happy birthday until she says it to me two weeks later I deserved a present: a photo shoot for Des!! (although this year I was only A DAY late...so maybe thats why....) So we scheduled to meet up and we had a blast talking and shooting (picturing? It sounds less violent) and trying to feed her baby new foods.

She sent me some pictures today to see if I liked them. Oh. My. Gosh. I teared up just a little bit because I LOVE THEM SO MUCH I CAN HARDLY CONTAIN MYSELF. See? I did all caps because I'm mostly out of control I love them so much.
And these are just the beginning! We took (by we I mean she) over 600 shots. Not like all of them turned out but still. Aren't these ones so pretty? Aw man. Her website is is here.

Des-in-a-box

Des is the typical baby, loves anything new in his little world. This includes boxes. When Kolt got his new computer, Des got a new play box! It was just perfect for him to crawl in. Kolt even had him "explore" with his flashlight. It was cute, but we failed to get pics of it. I did manage to snap a few of him another day.

Funny photo

This was Des last month. He decided he wanted to see behind him so he figured out a way. Looks painful. Although, I did some yoga last night and I gave up half way because it hurt my brain. Too much "downward dog" makes my heat hurt. A little random, yes. But you try doing the twisted chair pose. You'll look like this:

jk its not that bad. :D

Four Generations

While we were partying it up in Fillmore this Christmas, we were able to take a "Four Generations Photo". It was really neat to get to visit with Grandpa Davies and let him meet Des for the first time.

Aren't they all so cute?

Des' Blankie

I had a blankie growing up. I still have that blankie. Kolt makes me keep it in the closet though, otherwise I snuggle with it and not with him! So, naturally, I wanted Des to have a blankie.

This is what I made him:

And the best part is it's silky on one side...possibly the same color as MY silky blankie. So now I get to hold him and hold my blankie! Double bonus!

More Pictures!!

Des' first Christmas was fun! He liked opening presents and had lots of help from his aunties and uncle. He even did a little dance with his piano that played some sweet baby booty-shaking tunes. (I didn't get the video uploaded to the computer yet so you'll have to wait for that....)

This is the evidence that we were up waaaaaay too early for Christmas. And it was all Des' fault, too! Little stinker...
Our ward Christmas party involved a nice santa to terrorize the kids. Luckily, Des wasn't too concerned and he was pretty happy to get the bag with the treats inside.

All in all, Christmas was fun, Des did good with santa, and we'll work on getting video for ya'll! :D

As promised...

A PICTURE PARTY!!!

Yes, friends, we have a computer!! Up and running and even connecting to the internet. Ohhh it's a sweet, sweet feeling to be connected again. So, without further adieu...

First, cute tub shots! Oh...and a disclaimer--he smacked his cheek on his cabinet right before the tub so it's niiiiiiice and rosy. But only the one side. I guess I should have pinched the other one to match or something. You know, for posterity's sake.

This was the first "bubble bath" for Des and he was trying to figure out what the bubbles were and why he couldn't really pick them up.

This one makes me laugh. Des' first wink. hahaha

Next! We went Christmas-tree hunting. Nothing like the thrill of the hunt!! Or not having to lug your 20-something pound child around a snowy mountain (I made sure that was understood--that I was NOT going to be the pack mule.)

Des and daddy having a great time! It was snowing just barely, and not too cold. Plus Grandma Renee let Des use his Christmas gift early...a sweet camouflage hat and mittens!
Here's Grandpa Rob giving the tree a good whack with the saw. Gotta make sure its good under all that snow!!
Here's the troop: Grandpa Rob, Jessi, Terrill (Jessi's bf--oooooo!) Kelsie, Kolt, Des, and Grandma Renee. Apparently Clay was off on a more serious tree hunt because he was there. Just not there.
"Des meet tree."
And our family pic. Too bad no one said that I had my eyes mostly closed. Sigh. But we'll take it because the boys look so dang cute.

So that's it for tonight!! I promise more pictures to come. I had to kick Kolt off of the computer to do this. Look forward to Christmas morning photos and perhaps maybe, just maybe, a cute video or two of the baby dancing!
