After reading my sis's blog, I felt like I should pay some tribute to this terrible day. We were there, not NYC but just across the river in Jersey. And I will never forget how it affected everyone. I am grateful for a country where this kind of thing only happens (hopefully) once in a lifetime. I was watching a documentary while I ate lunch (a pretty long process for me these days) and it brought it all back. I too, would like to thank our soldiers Ben and Brian for all that they do to keep us safe.

In Honor of the Day

Baby update-- 11 weeks!!

Yes friends, that means I only have ONE MORE WEEK and I'm at 3 months! Second Trimester, here I come! But as far as the baby is concerned, this is whats happening this week:
Baby D is the size of a fig. Tooth buds are forming and some of the bones are hardening. Apparently Baby D is doing a water ballet but is too small for me to feel anything. Other than that, he/she will soon be able to open and close his/her fists.
So there you have it.

Super Cute Fabric
So I'm on a quest to decorate the nursery not in a cutesy-tutesy way but more in a sophisticated, kinda retro-modern fashion. Enter Amy Butler. She's an awesome designer with an equally awesome fabric line. I'm super stoked because your local Joanne's does NOT have anything even close to the amazingness of her fabric. I'm in love.

Baby update

So every week I get e-mails that update me on my baby's estimated progress. This week, 10 weeks, the baby is the size of a kumquat. He/she also has all the major organs but they are still underdeveloped. Baby D has joints now too, so the arms and legs bend and kick (but baby D is still too little for me to feel anything). And the brain is developing like crazy so the head is enormously huge. My freaky little alien fetus baby. awwww

Then there were three...
Sooooo pretty much my newest winget says it all....but we've accomplished one of our goals for the year. Baby Davies is due April 3rd, 2009 and we are SUPER excited!! We went and heard the heart beat (only one, thank heavens--we were worried about twins) and it was strong and the doctor was happy with the baby's progress. She did, however, say she expects me to gain 40-50 pounds and I about choked. I was expecting the 20-30 usual mark but I guess she says I have to make up the difference. It's not my fault that growing babies makes me puke like crazy. O well, two more weeks and I'll be in my second trimester and food will sound good again. I still don't plan to hit the 50 lbs because that's CrAzY but I can handle any amout less than that.
So there you have it, the cat's out of the bag. Laura's prego and there's nothing you can do about it. bwaa-haa-haa-haaaaa..... j/k that was my eeeevil laugh. :)

My anniversary present for Kolt

Yesterday, Kolt and I celebrated our 3rd wedding anniversary. (Celebrated may be an over-statement here, since we did absolutely nothing...) But I figured I'd at least get him something good to eat. After an hour of searching online, I figured Gandolfo's would be just as good as anything else to him. So that's what I did. And it was the coolest card ever--it came with a sandwich!!
