Some things I love

Its awesome being a parent. You get to show your kids how to do stuff all the time. Sometimes its kinda lame like the toothbrush battle we fight every night but sometimes its really fun.

Like teaching your two-year-old to play baseball...sorta.

look at that concentration. He's got a great game face.

I also love it when I sneeze and Des asks me, "You alright?" hahahaha and then I correct him and say, "No, it's bless you" and he says, "Oh, bless you." Moments I love.

Some days I wish I owned photoshop

But picnik will do just fine for now I suppose. I wish they had a watercolor overlay...

Alright, alright

So I've been MIA for a bit now...so sorry. Mostly I've been lazy. We have our spiffy camera that takes awesome pictures but it has one flaw: it doesn't stick them on my computer OR edit them for me. I know. How rude. (woh, insert Full House impersonation here)

Good news: my sister and her family are in town visiting and they took some family photos to update the wall for us. How nice.

Kolt and I scouted the location a week or so ago and it was perfect. If you need a field-y sort of mountain-y and most definately Utah-y spot for family photos, let us know.  We were able to let the kids run and play while the real work happened and the report from the 6-year old was that it was FUN! They caught grass hoppers!

This is a public service announcement

My cell phone is going away! as of today. So you can email me or leave a comment if you need my house phone. We might be getting a new cell number in the future but for now we're going to try it old school.

Here i sit, waiting for the dang dr's billing office to open

I wish my day started at nine. But! we're only a few minutes away now...

I had my 24 1/2 week check up tuesday. Things are looking great. Next appointment I get to have another ultrasound to see where my placenta has set up shop for realz. Then we know if I'll have to schedule a c-section or not. We're really, really hoping for the not. No-me-gusta surgery.

I did ask my dr about my belly button. come to find out I have myself a herniated umbilical cord! woo! hehehe. I have a small "bubble" sort of thingie above my actual belly button that sticks out occasionally and I can push it back in--but it hurts. I feel so validated. Every other weird problem associated with pregnancy is usually just, "well, isn't that funny? pregnancy does some crazy stuff, eh?" laaaaaaame answer. But this time he poked it and was like, "yep. Looks like a hernia." Not much we can do about it now so I'll keep pushing it back in.

and now it's time for the billing call. thaaat's right. They messed up. those are my favorite calls to make. Boo-ya!

Today my mom asked if we had the Ark ready.

I'm beginning to agree. It won't have to house thousands of animals since it's mostly a local thing...but seriously. rain. go away.

There are only a few days in a row a toddler who's used to playing outside in the warm sunshine can take before things go awry. That day was yesterday (smashed cereal all over the living room, pen on the couch, general two-year-old tantrumness...all before 9 am). And here we are again. stuck. Luckily, the two-year old decided to put himself to bed both days now. Not sure if its a lack of things to do or the looks he keeps getting from his equally grumpy mother...he's a clever one. So as he naps, I'll blog a quick "help-me-Rhonda!" blip and jump in the shower.

This is what our yard usually looks like. All the neighbor kids seem to collect on our back lawn for sandbox, cartwheels, and altogether silly fun. We need this back STAT.
