Cutest Bootie you'll ever see
Not sure if I spelled that right....
Carrie, I couldn't help it. These are for your sweet little peanut! They lack buttons because I figured I could make them either more boy or more girl depending on what that muffin ends up being. I thought about making them a surprise. And then I posted this.
I showed them to my party guests the other night and they all thought the booties were stinking cute. I do too.
You can wear them up like mucklucks or however you spell that....

...OR you can wear them down like little anklet booties!! ooooh so cute for a little girl!
Just imagine them with buttons!

Our impromptu Party

Des, meet Sippy Cup. Sippy Cup, meet Des.
I decided to get Destry a sippy cup, just for kicks. I read in his little letter from Gerber (I blame them) that I could introduce a little apple juice in a sippy and see what happens. So I did. And it was pretty entertaining. He's pretty good about holding his own bottle these days but the arms don't last very long. I'm not sure if he just forgets that they are what is holding up his food source or if he just gets tired of holding the bottle...anyway, a sippy comes with TWO handles! So yeah.
me: "Des, here's a sippy cup. You drink out of it. Crazy, huh?"

Des: "You mean, like this?"

me: "sorta...here, try this"
des: "mmmmm, juice!"

Des: "Ok, this is harder than it looks but I'm getting the hang of it!"

Pretzel Des
Shots do not make for a happy baby.
Des had his 6-month check up yesterday! Time is just zooming by. People tell you that all the time but its true. But here are the numbers:
height: 26.5"
weight: 19 lbs 1 oz. (which is less than what my parents scale put out. So my mom should be happy!) :D
head: 45.5 cm
This puts him in the 50% for height, 75% for weight, and *cough* 90% for the head. Nice.
Aaaaand then they gave him three shots and something edible. We tried to stay on top of the Tylenol thing and gave him a warm bath last night at midnight but to no avail. Ugh. We saw every hour except for this morning after kolt left for work. My head hurts but the baby is finally happy again.

A day of rest. or two. or three...
Today we rest. And probably tomorrow and the next day. I've had it with onesies and sewing machines that don't do what they are supposed to and trying to juggle a 6-month old and working. So yesterday we decided that its time to relax and play and sleep. Its gonna be a goooooood day!
And here a couple of cute pics of the babe:
